Today I launched my new Handmade Fudge and Favours Business. I have spent the last four years raising funds for poverty stricken orphans and vulnerable people in Eswatini but felt that in 2023 I really wanted to do something completely different so decided to make and sell fudge. Why not? Many trial recipes later I started making fudge and tested the results on friends and family. I received very positive reactions. As a pre-launch I booked a table in December at the monthly farmers market in our village hall and started stirring in earnest to make enough fudge to sell, tweaking recipes according to the feedback I had from my testers (which included my postie and his mum). Sales were good and I was encouraged so felt confident about building the business. So I am learning everything such as building a website, taking photos as I go which will keep the brain cells ticking over! I have all the appropriate certification and insurance and am being inspected next Monday although I have already had permission to trade.
